The AKA West Commons Renovation Campaign

About this Campaign

Join the 34 Sapphires Fundraising Effort to Renovate the West Commons A & B Residential Halls

Tuskegee University is rooted in a history of successfully educating African Americans to understand themselves and their society against the background of their total cultural heritage and the promise of their individual and collective future. Committed deeply to academic excellence, Tuskegee University admits highly talented students of character and challenges them to reach their highest potential.

As many colleges and universities face extreme financial distress in 2020, Tuskegee University is not exempt from this tragic situation. The school faces immediate & significant financial headwinds and needs support from the community NOW during this critical time in history.

Tuskegee University provides student life amenities and services to supplement the limited offerings of the surrounding community. Thus, providing sufficient on-campus housing is an important initiative to enhance campus life and support the recruitment and retention of students.

The Tuskegee University Alumni Fundraising Coalition and the alumni members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Gamma Kappa Chapter (Fall 1985 Initiates - 34 Sapphires of Sententious Supremacy) support the West Commons A & B Renovation Project because it will offer real-life learning and living experiences through our residential facilities. This multi-million renovation project includes:

  • New furniture for all units
  • Remodeling and refurbishing of two-bedroom & four-bedroom units

Please consider giving a financial gift as the University undertakes these major changes to its housing system. Your gift, no matter the size, is an investment in Tuskegee University’s pursuit to offer enhanced campus life to support recruitment and retention. All donations are tax-deductible.

Thank you for your generosity!
