"The Crimson Pipers Marching Band was first formed in 1906 and is one of the nation’s most renowned university marching bands. Over the years, the band has provided thousands of Tuskegee students, alumni, and friends with the heartwarming pride that has resonated across generations. The band has charmed millions of households through national appearances at competitions, parades, and commercials. The current uniforms that the band utilizes were purchased back in 1987.
The typical lifespan of a band uniform is about 12-15 years; however, our students have preserved them for more than 30 years. We know that our 21st-century students are worthy of 21st-century uniforms to match their discipline, mastery, and incredible commitment to this art form. The cost to outfit a student in a new uniform is approximately $600.
We are launching an alumni-driven fundraising campaign in hopes of raising $90,000 to purchase 150 new uniforms for the Crimson Pipers Marching Band by the end of 2020. On behalf of the current band students and the Tuskegee University Band Alumni Association, thank you for your support."

Thank you so much for your on-going support. A few months ago, the Tuskegee University Band Alumni Association launched the Marching Crimson Piper New Uniform Initiative to provide Tuskegee University band students with state-of-the-art uniforms. Many of our former pipers, alumni, and friends have pushed the initiative on behalf of TUBAA. With our goal now extended to December 31, 2020 and the initiative sitting just above 70% of the goal, we are asking our TU family to help push the initiative over the edge. Thank you again for your gifts and support. Let's continue to work together to help give our band students 21st century uniforms.
